  • Still kickin'

    Hi Gang,

It looks like I might be back in business (although I still don't trust it). After about three days of threats with a rather large hammer, my computers seem to have decided to co-operate. I can't believe how many posts I've missed, and I'm not even going to try to catch up! Good to be back.

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcomes back. At this point, my brain is fried! It still isn't perfect, but it's working.

Welcome back Ed! I've been kind of absent/quiet too - but not because of my computer (thank goodness!!) I was actually pleasantly surprised when I hooked up a Windows XP laptop to my Windows 98 home network and everything worked the first time!! Can't get much luckier than that! -Jeanie

Thanks Jeanie. I also hooked up a network with XP and Win 98. No problem at all getting it to work the first time around for file sharing. But getting connection to my isp was a little more difficult. Then I had problems with things freezing up or just not working right. At the present ime, things seem to working okay.

I'd co-operate with you too, Ed, under those circumstances

                  Glad you're back with us!

Thanks Carolyn. Maybe I should post that under "TIPS"!

I believe that technique with the hammer is correctly known as "percussive maintenance".

Hey now there's a good one for our new glossary forum. I'm going to have to remember that one since I seem to resort to that technique often.
