First off, I'd like to say "hi" to all the new people we have coming in. As you probably know, this site is in it's infancy, so stick around for a while, and help make it better.
To Alan:
I can relate to seeing that first B&W "pop" in the darkroom. I guess I was close to 40 years old when I took an adult basic photography course at the local high school. One of the first things the instructor did was to take head shots of each of the students. The next day, we went into the darkroom to see the "magic"! Like you, when I saw that image pop, I thought it was better than magic .
To All:
I think we have quite a few people who would like to have a critique area, and the way to get that is to support Doug's efforts to upgrade. There will also be quite a few other benefits, so if we could all spare a few bucks to help out, it might happen soon. Just click on the "click to give" button on the left of the page.
Also, Doug is trying to get photos for the Archives, which will be for everyone to use for spare parts, or just to practice on. I sent in close to 30 images. Let's all pitch in on this too so we can have a good choice.
Happy Hunting,
Ed

Ed,
Thanks for the comments. I agree that this is a very impressive site for such a new one.
Also, I believe that an interactive critique and support area will grow.
I know that giving is anonymous, but I want to show my support in the hope that others will follow. I would like to see this site grow and my $50 donation is very reasonable for the quality that I expect to receive. There are sites that charge substantially more for poor service.
The biggest asset that Doug’s site will have is those of us who stay committed to it and help it grow. Even beginners like myself can help in that other new comers will not be intimidated. It also keeps the more experienced on their toes when they explain things to others.

Yes, Alan - in my way of thinking, the critique area should bring in more newcomers. We'll have to get the word out once it is going. Also, thanks for your generous support donation. I wish I could match that, but it's not been a good week, and I need to wait until payday to send my donation in. Hopefully, there will be enough people donating to keep Doug busy with the new software before long.

I must say this has been a very good day for RetouchPRO. With Ed's valuable contributions to the Archive project (which couldn't have been easy on a modem connection), and Alan's generous donation, I feel we're off to a very positive start towards the bigger, better RetouchPRO.
Thank you both.
