  • Hats off to the ladies!

I might not be back on the site tonight, so I'll take this opportunity to wish each and every one of the ladies a very enjoyable Mother's Day.

Thank you Ed. I would also like to wish everyone a happy Mother's Day.

Mother's Day is a day for me to reflect on how lucky I am - two handsome, charming sons, a delightful daughter-in-law who is mother to my grandchildren and a mother who at 81 is still in excellent health both mentally and physically and I lucky enough to be retired early so I have time to enjoy them all!! I feel truly blessed.

.....and, of course, I'd like to join Margaret in wishing a happy Mother's day to everyone.....

I also have two grown-up children, a son and a daughter....alas they live rispectively in Germany and in the UK, so I often get "withdrawal symptoms"....I'm not blessed with any grandchild yet, but I'm not losing hope....

For those non-amerkins amongst us, Memorial Day is the traditional beginning of summer for us. We celebrate by hanging out flags and roasting dead animals in the backyard (for my part I'm putting bbq sauce on my soy burger). It's also the end of the season where you can safely attend movies on weekdays...

          Hi Folks,

It's been a while since I've been on the site (hoping to spend more time here soon), but I wanted to drop in to say "Happy Mother's Day" to my friends on both sides of our borders, especially those who have loved ones in the Armed Services, or are otherwise endangered....

          Word of the Day: schadenfreude
          by lkroll
Got an email today from an online acquaintance. Hate to say that I actually experienced this on more then one occasion, but I have. Very surprised that there is no English word equivalent. An example of this word is that you loose everything and the bank viciously evicts you from your home (since you...
