GIF can, in theory, also present a threat by having the least significent bit of per pixel info replaced with malicious code, although at present anyway, the only way you could actually get infected is by intentionally decoding the hidden info.... for a long time there has been debate over if/how both the malicious code and its "decoder" could be incorporated into JPEG ,GIF and other files of that type...pays to keep alert!
