  • Hello from a new member in North Carolina.

I have visited the site for several months now, but simply never posted a "hello". I have been trying to make more time for my restoration efforts and I think I have 2008 lined up to allow it.

I have been doing restoration on a very part-time basis for about 5-6 years. In 2007 I was fortunate enough to enter semi-retirement at an early age... so, that finally gave me the time to start catching up to some of the current technology and methods. I finally upgraded my software and hardware to something halfway descent. But, I spent much more time and effort reading books by Katrin Eismann and working through them as if I were in a class. I also read books on color so I could ensure I was working in a properly calibrated workspace.

So, now I feel that I can at least understand everyone's postings and possibly contribute some slightly educated advise. I look forward to the upcoming year and hope that I may be able to share some good experiences with some of you.

    Cheers !

Re: Hello from a new member in North Carolina.

Welcome 'officially' to RP, Tommy and congrats on your opportunity to get into retouching with gusto.

Good book you studied; it was one of the first ones I got my hands on. Learned a ton from it.

Your expertise and assistance will be most welcome and appreciated by other members.

Look fwd to seeing you on the forums...

The bots encouraged me to say "Hello" to the RetouchPRO community, so I say "Hello, Howdy, Hi, Hey, etc!"

I realize this community is very much focused on the "art of the photograph", and that's something that intrigues me and that I want to have in my skill...

      Hi all

I am based in Lincoln, UK. I don't know why I haven't thought about joining this forum before as I have been working within the artwork reproduction and retouching industry for nearly 7 years now. I have only recently gone self employed though. As well as retouching I specialise...

      Hello all
      by Elrond
I am getting a reminder that I have not yet posted so here is my first post. Even though I have been a member since 2003 circumstances have kept me from being an active member. I was introduced to RetouchPRO by members of the DPReview retouching forum, many of whom no longer seem to post there. At that...

Thought I would drop a post in here and introduce myself. I am Keith Wood and live in the central part of North Carolina (Brown Summit, right outside Greensboro).

I'm 40 years old, and work as a Senior Systems Analyst. I've had photoshop for about three years now (currently stuck on V5.5)....

      Hi, my name is Chip.
