Hi DJ - brain decay has been a serious problem for me too and I'm always looking for new ways to overcome it. I think a few minutes a day spent with the visual thesauraus would be an excellent way to improve my vocabulary.
Apophysis was already mentioned here. Thought I would pass on another free gem that Cat passed on to me on Innographx (does 3D textured versions which is cool). It's called Chaoscope. I attached a simple 3D textured version. Cool stuff.
It seems like no matter what 3D software I'm using, even Photoshop, I can't navigate worth spit. Am I just stupid, old, or am I missing some crucial bit of information?
Everything always starts out promising. I move an object up and down and rotate it. Then I do the same with the camera....
Here's a link to a cool and free Java based 3D modeling interface that I saw on Slashdot today. More for fun then what I would see a purpose for, but I still feel it's quite cool. The site also has a movie explaining how to use it.
