How do you verify if that site is legit? These days I suspect everything and everyone. I'm becoming cynical in my old age Ed but with the level of believable scams out there it's for good reason. I admit it does look interesting and it would be a good service for online buyers.

I too have become very paranoid of late - to the level I bought a shreader to mash up my reciepts or anything with my name and address on it.
Probably an interesting site - but do you have to enter your details into it. If so how do you know they are only going to use it to check that other companies have not got them?
I can understand the paranoia bit. I have a hard time trusting my own government, let alone an internet site. I found this site through the October issue of Smart Computing. If you happen to have it, it can be found on page 51. I decided to get rid of all the cookies I didn't want, and I found there were well over 400 on my hard drive since last January. I decided to make my options for privacy a little higher. Then I found out that when I visited sites, there were all kinds of places wanting to place cookies on my machine....
There was some talk recently about security problems with internet explorer. I'm not sure if that was the problem or not, but someone got my wife's debit card number. There was a charge of $36.19 that we didn't use the card for. A trip to the bank, and a call by customer service found that it was charged...
I just received this is e-mail, and I don't know if it's true or not, but it is good advice either way.
"Keep a watch out for people standing near you in the checkout line at retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, etc., who have a camera cellphone in their hand. With these...
