What are you an expert at?

This site is crawling with experts in various imaging programs and techniques. But what about stuff that has nothing to do with photography or visual arts at all?

Are you an expert in anything else? For the purpose of conversation we'll define expert as "more than intermediate knowledge or experience".

I like the term proficient better than expert. Expert implies things that can be a matter of opinion. Proficient implies an active understanding.

Example: the manufacturer of a mechanical devise might advertise their "expert" engineers are available to trouble shoot problems. But the engineers may not be proficient at operating that devise under real-world conditions, so their expert opinions can often fall short of expectations.

I'm a "jack of all trades, master of none" type person. Which basically means if I have some creative vision, I'm willing to learn just what I need to make it happen.

So though I've learned aspects of electronics, programming, and art/design - I'll never be the best at any of it.

I'm an expert hobbyist. I was a jack of all trades desktop publisher before I retired.

I have worked off and on with children, and with older people who had mental and physical disability's. I am in school, finishing my medical office administration. I have always loved photography and restoring pictures...I am self taught...expert at nothing!
