The bots encouraged me to say "Hello" to the RetouchPRO community, so I say "Hello, Howdy, Hi, Hey, etc!"

I realize this community is very much focused on the "art of the photograph", and that's something that intrigues me and that I want to have in my skill set! I'm really looking forward to participating with many of you, listening to presentations, or discussing various aspects of presentation, etc!

Additionally, I've been repairing, retouching, and restoring a lot of old photographs having recently received boxes of approximately 10,000 photos following my Mother's death. Of course, a lot of those old photographs have not really even been worth storing, but it's been truly interesting! Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,500 of those old photos are significant and are in various stages of visibility and/or decay.

I feel there is, at least for me, many techniques used in both of these endeavors that are in common usage in both of these disciplines. I will appreciate any insight or wisdom you might consider sharing with me as we spend time together in this community!

Hello. I'm new too. Having visited and read this forum in the past, the time has come for me to seek some assistance from some knowledgeable people in what for me is a tough assignment.

I'm retired, just an amateur with Photoshop CS6, probably about intermediate level. I have done some restoration before – removing scratches, spots, hairs, color correction but my latest assignment is difficult.

I'll post my problem and look forward to your valuable advice with thanks.

New members are encouraged to say hello in the Salon Forum, so I'm doing just that. Long time amateur photographer and occasionally asked to do some work for actual money, seeking to learn photo retouching and in particular, photo restoration.

I received 86 prints of actors and actresses...

Came across you site while trying to get information on photo restoration. Seems to be a one stop destination for any information I may need.

I started restoring my own photos about 2 years ago but I still have a lot to learn and read some very good information here today. Glad I found...
