Hi! I'm Steve Maguire from Illinois. I like Springsteen and Paul Simon and a bunch of music that got old while I wasn't looking. I've only spoken English my entire life, but I used to have a Boston accent.
I have become the family photo collector. Each week I post a dozen or so pictures from old family albums on smugmug.com. I'm pretty good at doing the scans and getting them into Lightroom, but my Photoshop skills are laughable.
I took a class at the local community college this time last year and learned a little bit. But I have a very limited range of skills. My hope it to learn here, from Katrin Eismann's old "Restoration and Restoring" text, and maybe another class.
On the meantime, I look at Eismann's book and fumble to follow her step by step instructions designed for Photoshop CS2 and translate them to instructions for Photoshop CC. You might see me on the boards asking how to handle a particularly tough issue. It will be quite a while before you see me answering someone else's question.
