Well they were the first to launch a rocket into space, have sent the first animal to space, first people in space, first nation on the Moon(not the first person, but first remote landing, first flyaround, and first to retrieve samples) first to achieve organ transplant, first to freeze the brain and bring the person back to life, first to make use of the ground effect, made the first successful computer virus, did the first major virtual heist, first to use sleeping gas on a theatre of thousands of people, they also exploded the largest bomb in history, and have been the first to have 30 km around their territory a forbidden zone thanx to Chernobyl explosion, but they were also the first to commit a high profile homicide using a radioactive material, first to have a long term space station, and first to have a space station at all, we are still using the Soyuz... they don't call it a world power for nothing.

We do need a "molecule printer" to really go forward with genetic technology.

Except that this incident happened at the time Russia and Ukraine were one country, and both Russians and Ukrainians were involved in all stages of development, built, and operation of the power plant, as well as the clean up process, all of which has gone through the Moscow central bureaucracy.

If something happened in Alaska at the time it was under russian control, you would say it happened in Russia, not in the US. lol

If anything, the fact that conference was held in Switzerland makes it seem more true, even if't just a load of fundraising crap.

Russia was the dominant influence in the USSR. While the USSR was in existance, it was a single nation/republic (comprised of many former nations, some of which were not generally willing participants in the USSR).
