Hi all,
You don't hear much from me, but I am here daily almost. Lot's of reasons... one I guess I don't feel confident enough to speak up about technique yet, two because I am newly on my own for the first time in many years and have been so busy trying to get something going to make a living. But I appreciate and respect this group so much and hope to be around for a long time.
I live alone, and often I find myself during the day at my computer, usually working in Photoshop or trying to learn more, and I think how nice it would be to chat with others in real time about something we have in common, namely restoration and photoshop. I dont know if you guys already have a place that you can stop by for that purpose, but I wanted to offer my own chat site if not. It is always online, and although there are not many people there, I know that when I "park" there and keep an eye on it while I do other things, 9 times out of 10 someone else stops by. It's a good way to sorta get to know people without giving out your ICQ or AIM numbers publicly. Its a great place to "meet" your friends for a quick chat.. or whatever. It's very private and there are even chat rooms that lock if you do not wish to be interrupted. (it has about 100 rooms within this one chat site).
This chat site is actually what got me interested in Photoshop, as it is totally customizable (is that a word?)... I was able to add chat room backgrounds of my own choosing. and put "doors" leading from one room to the next ... so it is such fun to build a virtual chat home with scenery, etc. I am not as "into" this whole thing as I used to be, but for several years it was a large part of my time building this place. It's a very cool program
Anyway... please feel free to drop by, and I would even be happy to install some of your work as "rooms" for you to chat in (you'll see what I mean when you check it out). There are two ways to get there... the easiest is just to use a java enabled browser and go to:
The other way is to actually download the free chat software (no advertisements or spyware - I know this for sure). It is a much nicer experience using the software, but the URL above is a good way to see if you like it first. Here is where the software is:
I published a New User tutorial here:
Oh well... anyway I have long thought how nice it would be to have a chat "home" where people that have a deep interest in Photoshop and graphics could stop by. Makes it nice to have company while working at the computer
Take care, stop by if you want to (I'm sorry Im not always there but will try to be more in the next couple weeks) ... but I'll see you here for sure even so
Pam
