If someone sends you an e-mail telling you that you probably have an infected computer, and suggests which file to delete, don't do it! Before you do anything, check this out: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...e.warning.html

I remeber that one from a while back. Must be recirculating again. Why do people have to do this stuff? Are there lives so bad that they have to create havoc to feel alive? We've really been lucky so far.

      I've got a virus!
      by Ed_L
A virus slipped through tonight in my e-mail. The sender is [email protected], and the subject is Re: Sample. Since I know nothing about this stuff, I'll give you some info, in hopes you can give me some advice. I'm running AVG virus protection v. 6.0.445/virus database: 250-release date 1/21/03. AVG tells...

      Do I have a virus?
      by Ed_L
I received an e-mail from a longtime online acquaintance telling me that his virus protection caught a virus that I sent. I haven't sent this individual an e-mail for quite some time, but he is in my address book. I have NOT visited any questionable websites, and I only visit websites having to do with...

      Important update on virus
      by Ed_L
I sent a few messages to individuals to let them know I had received a virus. I just found out that the e-mail I sent had an attachment with it. I did not put an attachment in the e-mail. I hope I didn't infect anyone else's system. Now what do I do???

Still wondering about possible virus (What's .HQX?)
      by Ed_L
I have not been able to find a virus on my computer or my wife's, even though I've done several scans, both online and local. But I recently received an e-mail that seemed to come from my wife, but it didn't. It had an attachment, which I didn't open.

During an online scan, using Panda...
