  • Coca Cola Pork Chops

Many moons ago, we bought a cookbook put out by the Chicago White Sox. Rudy Law, centerfielder, had this recipe in the book. It's probably not something that you would like to have every day, but it sure makes for a good (zingy) change.

    4 - 5 pork chops
    salt
    pepper
    garlic salt
    1/4 cup chopped onions
    1/2 can coke
    5 tablespoons worcestershire (sp?) sauce
    1/4 cup ketchup

Season pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste.
Put these into a large skillet, and cover them with chopped onion .

Mix (well) the coke, worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Pour part of the resulting sauce over chops.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
Pour remaining sauce over chops and bake for an additional hour or until done.

It might not *sound* very appetizing, but it *is* a good change.

    Ed,
That reminded me of a friend who used to make her roast beef by pouring a can of Pepsi on it. I always kind of thought it was crazy but she swore by it. I may give those chops a try, since I'm getting tired of Shake and Bake.

Everyone has a cookbook -- why shouldn't we? (This coming from a guy who knows how to burn water) . My wife is a good cook, but she doesn't use recipes most of the time. So I won't be able to give recipes except for the ones I find in her cookbooks after I wipe the dust off of them. If you have...

This is a recipe I was introduced to by a neighbor when I was pregnant. I had just eaten supper but as a kind gesture for his labor, I aggreed to a small bowl as a taste test.
Well, 5 bowls later and bursting at the seams, I decided to take home the recipe. Which I did and made some the next...
