  • Jalapeno Poppers

Sorry it took so long to post this. I know you were just drooling. This is one I got from one of my sons. Whenever we have a big get together, he brings poppers. I could make a meal out of 'em.

    Ingredients:
2 cups fresh grated Parmesan cheese
    2-8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese
1 pound Jimmy Dean's fresh breakfast sausage
2 pounds fresh or frozen jalapeno peppers split lengthwise and seeded.
    ______________________________________

    Brown the sausage and drain.
Melt the cheese with the sausage (mixed).
Fill the jalapenos with the mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

    Wow! That was hard! Enjoy.

Sounds great Ed and from the response to the "Some like it Hot" thread, I think you got a winner here.

      Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

I can't wait to try this one. I am such a sucker for a popper. Thank you, ED!

Have you ever tried making it with cheddar instead of cream cheese? Or breading and frying it?

Just wondering if those little adaptations would work...

My wife very rarely lets me into the kitchen, so the answer is no, I haven't. It's even more rare than when she allows me to touch money!

YUMMY! I always wanted a recipe for poppers! Another recipe I will have to add to my appetizers folder.

At the rate the cookbook thread is growing, we might need to section it off into sub-threads like Desserts, Appetizers, Main Meals, Hot Ones and so on.
