I observed that a new edit done to an old message does not appear in the "Last 24 hours" search. I usually click on this link in the floating window that appears on the left of the screen. When Art-tag status is updated in the thread during the progress of the game, it does not appear through the 24-hrs link. Is it a feature or a bug

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if editing a post is the same thing as making a new post? If that's the case, no, edits are not counted as new posts.

doug, exactly what I was asking.
A new post or an edit add some new info to the thread. People should be aware that a change occurred(atleast in some cases, like the art-tag example i gave).Does my reasoning sound correct?

Editing actually usually removes something from a thread, like a typo, bad grammar, or bad link or something. I guess it's just as likely information could be added, but I doubt we'd want to know anytime anyone removed information.

If T is using edits to update information, maybe a post is in order instead.

          Spam protection?
          by Chain
          Hi

Just wondering how the spam protection on the new website works? (Great update by the way, although links to old threads broke). Yesterday I was unable to post comments in a thread. When I clicked "Post" the post went blank and just said "unauthorized". If I reloaded...

Question: What's the difference between 'New Thread' and 'Post Reply'?
          by Doug Nelson
'Post Reply' will append your message at the end of the posts you're reading at the time. 'New Thread' will start a new chain of posts with no link to the messages you're reading at the time.

TIP: How did I miss that thread?
          by Doug Nelson
The way the forum tracks which threads you've read and which ones you haven't is a bit complicated, and far from foolproof. Frequently it will think you've read posts you actually haven't.

The primary culpret is a restriction to the forum software that's necessary to keep it from overwhelming...

          [RANT] Read the post date!!
          by NancyJ
Please excuse the rant but I'm sick of seeing the same old (sometimes over 12 months old) posts over and over again bumped up by spammers who dont read the post date of the original message. A job advert this old is unlikely to get a response.

          Etiquette
          by Doug Nelson
It's been pointed out to me that many of our users aren't experienced with message boards and forums in general, and therefore have no idea about specific "Do"s and "Don't"s. We've lucky to have a very nice group of people here, but anytime you get a large group together misunderstandings...
