    i work in rgb
    can i save in my photo rgb lab or cmyk masks ?
    i mean in lab mode there are 3 channels ,luminosity and A/B with colors
    in cmyk i like the black channel

    my goal is
    1) have a mask luminosity created using the lab mode

    Liquifying RGb and Alpha Channel

    Hi there,
    I am needing to liquify on the RGB channels, and also have it affect the Alpha 1 channel. the image is a 4 band tiff (RGB1-3 and Alpha 1) 16 bit. I have tried everything I can think of. Is this possible? Essentially i wanted to perform a liquify (once) and have it affect all channels....

    Been reading Dan Margulis these days (thnx adamz!) and a whole new world opened to me: (2 actually) CMYK and LAB.

    what brings me to wonder about the importance and avantages of each mode.

    Why, when, n how do you guys choose to work in which mode ?

    i'm working on an image ,rgb

    i want to make some edit in labmode , so image->duplicate ,image->mode->lab

    now i have on my first tab my original image rgb and on the right my duplicate image in lab mode

    i make some edit in lab...

    If you want to apply sharpening to an image and do not want to switch to lab mode, here is another method to do so...

    Unsharpen Mask settings:

    Divide the output resolution by 200 and this determines your radius.
    Threshold: Setting of 4-8 reduces graininess in flesh...
