  • Tired Eyes

so... it's 12.30 and my eyes hurt + I'm already late for my plans tonight :/

This is only a close up of a beauty image (Half chest crop)

I've been working on this image too many hours and I'm going to close it now and look at it back tomorrow, but I'd still like to read your thoughts

My main concern is the mouth, she had a really DRY mouth and i wonder if it still looks natural

    Thank u everyone

    and have a good night!

        Re: Tired Eyes

While it looks "natural", it does not appear to match the cleanliness of her skin, etc.

Maybe about 15% more general removal of some of the creases in her lips. Also, the smaller creases along the top edge look a bit funny. While natural to her, so many small ones just don't look "typical". The top edge of her bottom lip still looks just a bit dry to me; the light isn't being refracted as it would on lip gloss.

Otherwise, the sneak peek at the rest looks great as usual !

I like what you have done.

If only these models were less flawed,
we wouldn't have to spend so much time & money on make-up & retouching.

          Oh well, job security!

            Re: Tired Eyes

I create a new layer and choose a lipstick i want, paint it on the lips and choose overlay. Then i adjust the sliders as I need to. This is the main way i create dewy lips. On the other hand, multiply makes the lips matte.
You could always try selecting the mouth and use the Plastic Wrap filter. I usually keep the highlight strength pretty low, but it all depends on the picture.
Even lesser, I select the lips and go to filter>>render lighting effects and choose gloss: shiny and material to plastic. be careful with this tool though because it can also dry out the lips.

The close up work is really good, but perhaps you need to zoom out a little and work on the larger highlights/shadows to give more shape to the lips. I think the lips look a little flat. A strategically placed highlight on the inside on the nose will add definition. Ditto for the cheek line.

Here's a rough and ready of what I mean. I just fiddled with you touched up version a bit. The differences are subtle.

Looking at the full one, still think it needs it?

                  Re: Tired Eyes

Lovely work, Natalia. I still think the inside edge of the nose could do with some more work. There is a little bump there opposite the bottom eyelash that is distracting. The make-up line on the bridge of the nose is too straight and doesn't seem to fit in with the smoothness of the rest of the retouch. The top part of the bottom lip could also do with some work. It seems both devoid of creases and a little lumpy, if you know what I mean. In contrast to the rest of the lips it stands out.

But, really, those are minor details. I think you have done excellent work.

Godmother I think most of your work is excellent. The top lip is a bit distracting for me though. You've made a straight line, whereas before the edge of the top lip followed the creases in her lip. Somehow that makes more sense to me. It's not a major change, but a slight "jiggle" to that line would really help blend in the lip make-up.

There's a couple of weird spots in the skin in the shadow of the hairline, 1 highlight and some other spots, the side of her nose looks a tad too sharp in some places as well. Her nostrils should be at least as dark as her eyelashes.

THe hair on top on the left looks a little to fake. Some flyaways would make it more natural, and since you haven't removed al flyaways it would be fine.

Next to her left eye, there's a weird line that should be blended in more.

                    Good job.

                      Re: Tired Eyes

Some good comments from DJSoulglo there. Don't get the side of the nose comment, but most of his observations are spot on. That top lip certainly needs looking at, too much of a highlight.

Main problem I see are the transitions where there is a gray green color, banding. Top of the neck even though you haven't altered it needs a bit of work, to make that inner throat recession not stop so suddenly. Dropping back the whites of her eyes and teeth will help a lot.

                        Would u take an IOU?

Thank u everyone for your input, I've fixed most of that for the final tif

Except the white-blue of eyes and teeth - I went out of my way to make them like that because I wanted them like that - was a personal choice.

                        xx
