  • Another retouch from me

    Hello guys,

I've really tried my best this time to produce a good retouch

I'm really looking for critique so I can improve myself!

This picture I have tried to work with the colours as best as possible. But I'm no expert on D&B, so if you have any tips, please write!

PS. Sorry for the misspelled title!

Good effort with the hair, seems to have lost a little sharpness though. Personally i think the patch where her hair meets her 4 head looks like it needs work, matches the original mostly but looks wrong in the original too. You've reshaped her nose but i think it looks good! (so does her original nose) Spot above the eye (left of the image) is still there a bit. Doesn't look like you've had the best starting image to work from. Desaturated in a lot of places, which i figure makes it a bit harder to decide if something is a freckle or a patch that needs removing. Maybe if you added a bit of redish/gingerish.orangeyness to the freckles, and make them look a bit more like freckles but obviously that's a big job. I think you've done pretty good given your starting image. All in my humble opinion.

And yeah, seemingly not many so called pro's want to help but that doesn't matter, just keep practising and become better than them. That's what i WILL do :-)

The face needs to be brighter.
            I did this in Painter & CS6.

Not really all retouch, but an idea what can be done.

I like Bubbles version better to be honest. It just need a little more clean up but it looks more natural. Believe it or not you can do a really nice retouch with just the patch tool and d&b tools on softlight layer. Use small selections with the patch though, try it.

What do you mean by this? Is it the d&b you mean?

No bubbles, use small selections when using the patch tool. Google "patch tool" it's within the healing brush.

I did this really quick the new way is not to just remove but enhance little here and there. Just the patch tool and d&b tool that is it. I did use a selective color and a curve but nothing else besides that it's not the best work but it should give some direction you might want to go. : )

                    All the best

Okey, I searched the patch tool, and see how it works. How come you recommend this more then the healing brush though? Is it because you find the healing brush more time consuming or does it have more pros the healing brush dont?

Just a tool to get you where you want to go. try both and see which one you like is all.
