Re: feedback please
The picture is a bit small to make a proper judgement.... A larger version would be appreciated... also, a before and after so we could compare..
If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described here:
Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)
If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread, but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).
Other Hosts if you do not have your own site:
ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) photobucket.com (1 Meg max free, 5 Meg PRO) mediafire.com (100 Meg per file, free) post a link in the thread to the site that is hosting the larger image. (link to the highest resolution.. or the largest size you can upload)

Re: feedback please
Over all it looks nice.. upon closer examination:
1. the corners of the mouth seem overworked,
2. The little piece of flesh in the corners of the eyes, by the nose, should be a healthy reddish natural color
3. instead of removing red from the whites of the eyes and leaving dark veins.... carefully clone out those pesky red veins using numerous samples close by
4. the jewelery and hair have a blur
5. the way you reshaped the eyes and nose is very subtle and a matter of choice
That is just a quick analysis... I realize it is a WIP (work in progress) so I will stop for now
All in all most of the work you have done looks pretty good

Re: feedback please
You should think about cleaning up her skin a little more. There are places where it still looks bumpy.
Also, on the veiwer's left: under the ear, clean up the hair. On the neck, there are hairs and seems to go nowhere. Looks like you cleaned up the background hairs but left the ones on the skin.

Re: feedback please
Getting the skin tones and colors right in-camera is key... after that, the retoucher needs to stay true to the photographers intent and mood then consider the final use of the photo.
Here are just a few things to look at concerning your WIP ... this is by no means everything, but it is a start of what stands out the most at this time.
~~~ Before ~~~ ~~~ After ~~~ ~~~ Fix ~~~~
Re: feedback please
Hello fattali,
I think you have a goos start here, i believe the feel on the background it too harsh in some areas. Such as in the neck of your model it looks unnatural. Also make sure you make her skin look even all the way around. diminish fine lines around the mouth a bit more and reduce pore size too. Learn how to work with frequency retouching that way you can clean unwanted fly-aways in a subtle manner.
by tracyabHi
I am new to the site and looking for some advice please. I don't have the original photo of my mum and dad who have now passed, I only had a photocopy on my Iphone. It is of very poor quality and wondered if anyone could advice on what to use just to sharpen it up as much as possible....-
