Did you know Kodak developed the first digital camera?

    http://pluggedin.kodak.com/pluggedin/post/?id=687843

    where is Kodak today?

Kinda like a photographer and retoucher...you can be great (maybe even poor)... you still need to be good at marketing your product to the consumer to be profitable... right Nick?

    Re: Did you know?

There was a documentary on the BBC this week about great business failures. Polaroid were featured. They were onboard very quickly with digital but underestimated both the market size and the competition. With huge factories and staff to support they couldn't accept a future without paper or chemicals in the mix and developed ever more fancy 'traditional' solutions. It's like they invented the wheel and couldn't see beyond making more chariots. Ultimately they lost their edge and the rest is history.

How did they assemble Pluto image?
        by Doug Nelson
More to the point, why did it take a team? It says it took 10 minutes, so why 4 people?

Does anyone know specifically what was involved?

4x5 Negs - the heart of a business system
        by Jim Conway
I've been asked to comment on 4x5 negatives. It's such a broad topic from both the technical and business standpoint that I'll just start with a few things and respond if there are questions.

We offer them as the "heart" of our business because it's my idea of a "best...

        Tent on Malolotja revisited
        by BigAl
I recently asked my students, as part of an Internet awareness assignment, "What is the significance of the 'Tent on Malolotja'?". As this image was discussed in an earlier thread, I thought I'd share what the students found.

What I was actually after was:
