Unglue vintage albumen photos
On removing glue on photo in albums. What can you do if you are trying to unglue vintage albumen photos from paper.

Avoid water. You might experiment on an edge or on an unimportant sample with other solvents. But I suspect mechanical separate (thin spatula, patience) might be your only recourse.Learn by teaching

has anybody got suggestions for removing stuck photos from those horrible "Magnetic" albums without damaging the photos? It Seems over time the sticky surface has bonded with the photos and making them difficult to remove. Cutting around the photo and leving them on the backing is not an...02-06-2002, 05:44 PM -
I want to begin to collect an inventory of photos from different time periods - like WWII, or the depression.
Does anyone know of or use any collectibles sites that offer photos that are not too expensive?
I'd appreciate any tips you can offer.

Hello,
I recently acquired a Harding's Flexible Chain Back Album and it was put together in 1871. I am trying to remove the photos, but when I do, I seem to be ripping the paper. The photos are not glued down, but seem to be stuck. Can anyone help me with this problem.

I'm new to all this so bear with me if it's been discussed before. I have some shots of old Victorian houses that I have taken from the public right of way. I was thinking of printing up a few, framing them and try to sell them in a local consignment art store.
