  • Need Help Fixing Faded Picture

Any suggestions how I can fix this picture? I'd love a walk through how you would go about fixing the girl (my sister) on the right. The lighting and contrast is so high, it's hard to see her face. I've already added a new layer and used mulitiply which helped and adjusted the curves. I still have a bit of clean up work - but I'd love to know how to fix her face.

    Thanks!

Check out the Restoration challenges for Challenge #14 Never Say Uncle. It is similar to your faded photo. Alot of members did a great job with it. You will probably get alot of ideas from their descriptions on what to try in your photo.

Thank goodness you titled it "Never Say Uncle". I went to Challenge 14 and thought to myself - hmmm, I don't think this looks like my picture, but....

Then I went back later to look at the challenges and realized that it's Challenge #15 - Never Say Uncle - which is entirely faded.

I'll look at the fantastic makeovers and see if their is any tips I can use to repair mine.

        Thanks again

Opps. Sorry about that. Glad I named it too or you would be wondering what I'm smoking.
I think there should be some good tips for you. I got to admit I tried your photo but it was taking alot more time than I had to work with it. That's when I remembered the challenge. After seeing what they did with that photo I figured they had answers I didn't. Hope that helps

            Need Help Fixing

            Morning!

I'm beginning to wonder if I should just cutout out the background work with it seperately, then do the same for my sister and myself. That way I can make adjustments to each layer. Lots of work and I thought this was going to be an easy one

I tried it for a few minutes, and believe that you'll have to work with each subject and the background separately. The background is so very bright and washed out, and your sister's face is lighted differently from the other child. I think you're on the right track.
