Been there, done that and on many occasions to boot! The more open documents, the more the confusion potential. Tom

Well, if nothing else, you've given a good tip to others who want to do that.

    Cry for help...

Is there a 12-step program for PhotoShop junkies??

    Seriously:

I have image1 open in PhotoShop 6. Image2 has a mask that I want to use in image1, so I open image2. With image1 active, I go to Selection>Load Selection and in the dialog box, I can pick image2 as the source document for the selection I want to load. All is well.

Now I want a mask that is in image3. I open image3 and follow the same procedure as above thinking that I'll be able to select image3 as the source document - BUT - image3 does not show up on the list of source docments.

ok, I just found the answer to my own question - to be available, source documents must have the same dimensions as the target.

    Thanks anyway,

    Margaret
