  • cropping photos and printing

    Hi ya,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my dilema.
A friend wanted me to remove a person from a photo, crop it and brighten it up. i've done everything she wanted but when I came to print a 5 by 7" print out. When I came to do this, the photo appeared stretched and distorted, How can I make this photo a 5" 7" without looking bad?
will I need to start from scratch with the photo and crop it the right size?

    thanx....

    Mike,
How did you go about cropping your photo? If you are using Photoshop, the crop tool is probably the easiest way to crop to 5x7. You can set the height and width dimensions in the Options bar across the top, then just click and drag with the mouse and the correct aspect ratio will automatically be displayed. I've never known this to distort a photo, so if this is what you already tried, if you can provide more specifics on exactly what you did we might be able to give you further advice.

      thanx Jeanie,
I didnt know about the height/width dimensions on the options bar, I simply selected the crop tool and made a box over the photo to crop it.
I'm going to try what you suggested

      thanx again
