  • Map Manipulation

I’m assisting in a project on George Orwell the writer. The image is a map section covering an area Orwell visited in a town near to me called Wigan. Alas a fold line, needless to say in an awkward position vertically bisects the map section. The fold can be dealt with in the open areas with the patch tool but in areas of detail (of which the image is one) not so straightforward. Any suggestions.

    Thanks…

    Chris,
I set a dupe layer to overlay and dodged some of the crease. Then repainted with black an white on the areas still marked.

Debbie that was certainly effective in removing the crease/shadow line. On the original file there is a definite change in tone on either side of the line but the patch tool sorts out the more open areas.

I did it quick Chris, I hope it helps. Changing the opacity on the dupe layer can help even more. I've been playing with that on the challenges and it seems to do the trick, at least on my monitor here.
