    Re: Another toning question

I was trying to find a good image that i have use gradient map on but i could only find these 2:

this one if u pay attention to the trucks ont he left side of them u will be able to see that they have a small amount of color thats slightly desaturated but its on the side. That was done with gradient map. The point was to put a different color but not too strong to distract from the front of the truck.

this other one was for a dvd wrap that i worked on. The gradient map is more clearer here in the sky of both sides of the wrap. Then theres another tint on the house itself.

    Another toning question

Hi everyone, I've been looking at some toning techniques because I see that my images lack that part of the process. In my free time I like to create some photo compositions for my portfolio and also for practice but I'm encountering that the toning part is not very clear for me... I mean good subtle toning.
Searching the web I found this great example from Saddington Baynes, it's a series of color toning images that look really great. My question is how could I get this particular tone: see the image circled in black.

Thanks for any input regarding the image or/and toning techniques in general.

    See you around.

    Gradient tool:angle gradient
    by Canna W
Like everyone else, I use the gradient tool all the time with layers' masks, and find it absolutely invaluable. There is one of its settings though that I can't understand at all - it's the third one along - the "angle gradient".

I am really curious as to how and why one...

    Gradient maps

I have been restoring images for OPR for some time. My efforts at replacing damaged color leave something to be desired, particularly when the area is high contrast and there have to be subtle hue and saturation variations to achieve a natural result.

Gradient maps different uses and techniques?
    by mayday
Gradient maps have many different uses and I think its probably one of the most versatile tools in photoshop.

Heres a few of they ways I use them.

You can use them to change and shift colour dramatically with precise control over the colours that you want to use.
