okay. I am really new at photo restoration and I'm trying to restore this photo...

The lady would like only the gentleman on the right to be restored. I scanned it in at 900 dpi, and then proceeded to wreck it completely! In the original photo you can kind of see the guy's body and now he looks like a disembodied head!!! Any help would be SUPER appreciated!!

You might want to make two scanning passes, one optimized for the darkest areas and another for the lighter. Make sure you have auto-everything turned off and you have the scanner under your control. Then check out the individual color channels on each. On the sample you provided, the red channel seems to hold just a little more information.

          Restoration 1952 photo
          by bpurvis
This is my father-in-law in 1952. There was quite a bit of damage and the telephone wires nearly drove me nuts! I considered just cropping them out, but wanted to keep the original content intact. I can always crop one to print.

Can you please tell me how I did and if there is anything...

          Photo Restoration Help - Grainy
          by felinawi
Hi, I have this project ... this photo was really small, grainy and it looks a bit blurry and I am trying to restore it and possibly make it into a 8x10, but if not at least a 5x7.

I have more background work on imperfections but below are the links to the original scanned image (I scanned...

          Physical restoration of Kodachrome
          by Tony W
I have just discovered dozens of 35mm Kodachromes dating from the mid 60's to early 70's. These had been forgotten about as thought to be lost.

Unfortunately a few exhibit the problems shown on the attached scan. I intend to restore at least some of the images but before starting out...
