Replacing one color value or intensity value with two (or more) other values spaced closely together to give the illusion of the initial value.
Overall to be avoided. Used to compress files, or to simulate values not possible to represent directly (eg: if your display or printer can't handle the full range)

I have an Epson Stylus R800 Photo Printer and would like to know how can I print the exact color on my monitor on a color photo. For example, if I add a dark brown to a photo, I would like to print that color with my Epson R800 printer.
