I haven't used them, although I have some friends who do. They print beautiful black and white images. Better than beautiful.
The only catch is that you have to have a dedicated printer, because you must first completely flush out all the previous ink.
What most of them do is use an older printer after they buy a new one. Then they use the older one for dedicated B&W and the new one for color proofs, etc.
If I could swing another printer right now, I'd have one running the John Cone inks, because the results are absolutely stunning!!
