I scanned an old family photo in grayscale that originally had a sepia tone to it. How can I produce a sepia tone in PS6?

Try this: with the photo open and set to RGB in mode setting, add blank layer, fill with Focoltone # 2191 from custom color pallete, set this layer blending mode to overlay. Also see the software section of this site for a description and examples of some software plug ins which will take the sepia tone look to very nice levels. Hope this helps. You could also try changing the mode to duotone and playing around with the colors there. Tom
