    thank you, patricia. another lovely pic

    i decided to do some actual painting on this one. no filters. this was done mostly with the 'push' brush (heavy smudge brush to ps users) on a separate layer then some duplicate layers and blend modes.

      Gotta say i flower head pictures are one of my favorites...

            Dan...Your watercolor is lovely...the colors are so bright and vibrant....

            Steve...Well if you saw how many flowers photos i actually took this summer...maybe you would be surprised.....this is just the tip of the iceburg!!!
            Addicted to photography always think the next will be a better one than the last...

            Just had to pop back and edit...must have clicked the reply button before your images came up....they are both really nice and have a silky effect...did you use shhh you know what?????

              Dan... I especially like how you brought out the color in the leaves.

              Mine:
              * AKVIS sketch plugin (for the edges)
              * Levels to define the edges and texture
              * Impressionist > Charcoal > Default for the colors, Normal (55% opacity)

                I like everything about it especially the delicate outline....something i used to do when i was into doing watercolors....on paper...

                                It's finally spring here. Here's a nice purple crocus to artify.
                                Or a helleboris. My favorite since it blooms first of all my plants. Also it's my only true green flower.
                                I smudged the crocuses a little and then used xero's caravaggio filter on a layer and blended with luminosity....

                                I shot the photos while hiking the Jenny Lake trail today. We are expecting a snowstorm this week and these may well be dead by Saturday. So have a ball and paint them up.
