    Hi MugrubV!

    Welcome to RetouchPRO!!

I have moved your Thread to the Photo-Based Art Forum where I'm sure you'll find plenty of help!

In the meantime you could have a look here:

    http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/pho...als-links.html

Since the linked Thread was started in 2002, some of the links on it might not be available anymore ... but I'm sure you'll find a lot to work on!!!

What a question with the possibility of a thousand answers. I don't know where to begin.

      Uhmmmm...

How about looking at some of tutorials on smudge painting, or tutorials on the art history brush. If you are using CS5, the new mixer brushes are very easy to use. And the list goes on.

Flora had a wonderful idea. Look through old threads here in this forum. There is some very nice work and often the artist has posted information on how they obtained a certain effect.

      Good luck and happy hunting.

In addition to suggestions above from Flora and Janet, there is a great pdf e-book on converting photos to art. You can check it out here:

I would suggest for a quick start that you download FotoSketcher, (a freebie), and try a few images with it. Quick and easy. Then you can go on from there. But this will give you a quick start to artifing images.

Thank you very much for mentioning my ebook, Murray

I just wanted to add that I have 5 ebooks now (Photoshop & Photoshop Elements - in English and in French, + Topaz in English).

Also, make sure you check the free stuff (textures, borders, brushes, backgrounds, etc.).
