  • Parisian Cathedral

Here's a shot I didn't think was very good. I took it on an overcast day in Paris in 2009. Then I remembered some of what I have learned here and so I offer this photo to see what great artwork ya'all will create using it. I am enclosing the original as it came out of the camera.

I used several things that I cannot recall right now.

Here's a "Noir" look using Topaz Adjust and Simplify along with layer blending modes. The sky replacement came from my own stock photo collection.

    I'll try something cheery next!

Nice pic Gunner. I used a bit of Topaz and Fractalius. Thanks for the play.

Fractalius is always cool. Looks even more haunted! Still working on my "cheery" version (installing some older plug-ins).

Here we go. Sky replaced, sun added via Knoll Light Factory, art effect added with Topaz Clean, edge by onOne PhotoFrame.

Neat renditions all. I like topaz but have never played around with "Clean", yet.

              Re: Parisian Cathedral

The Topaz bundle offers so many different image correction and creative options amongst its 9 plug-ins, especially when combined together. You can almost get away with not having many other plug-ins if you have it.

Inverted look based on a Photoshop action then further fine tuned.

                    Thanks for the picture, Gunner
I used Fractalius plus a touch of Topaz Clean.

                      Re: Parisian Cathedral

Nice interpretations all! Those who used Fractalius kept it under control so it looks great. Danny's looks like an abandoned warehouse, very cool!

I have one question, what is buzz?

                          Re: Parisian Cathedral

This was buZZ, which went out of business several years ago. Now Topaz Simplify gives you the same effect with more control.

No worries! That's how my website started, me cataloging all my plug-ins to see what in the world I had! And I still can't remember what does what without looking...
