    Jaz,

This is a beautiful portrait - I like the canvas and painted effects that you have used on this. My ownly comment would be that the speckling of white canvas are a little distracting - I like them in the background but they pull my eye to much on the figure.

        very nice

I like the texture and colors. I would like to see a bit less realism in her face, but that is just my taste. Your image stands well as it is.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess you can't please everyone. The first version of this was more impressionistic and folks complained that there was not enough facial detail! :-)

This is a pic of my step-son who plays in a rock band called Sappy Bell. (http://www.sappybell.com)

It was Painter 7 rendition using a canvas paper and acrylic paint...

              Canvas effect = sleepless nights
              by Drach
As the topic says that "see canvas through picture"-effect was giving me a hard time lately.

Applying a canvas texture isn't a big deal of course.
Making it visible only on certain parts of the picture isn't difficult either.
Now making the canvas really shine...

              stretching inkjet canvas
              by bigkidjr
Hi everyone. This is a basic question. Is it possible to stretch/mount inkjet printed canvas, and if so, does anyone know how it's done? i've been doing a lot of digital art but have no real experience in actual painting (by hand) on canvas, and so I'm not sure how the stretching part is done, or...

              Portraits
              by bcarll
Hope I can express my question in a manner you can understand.
When doing a portrait in my paint program (gertrudis at the time) I am finding that I am maybe not adding enough texture etc. in the face area for fear of losing detail. The body of my work looks OK and like a painting but sometimes...

              Photo to canvas
              by skydog
Has anyone printed to canvas lately? Any recommended sites? I have a few photos I'd like to print on canvas but I prefer not to chose a printhouse without a recommendation. Thanks
