Imitating natural media (oil/acrylic on canvas)

Hello,

I just joined in the hope of exchanging some ideas and techniques, and to see what other people are up to. This is my first post.

I started digital painting about a year ago. I use a Wacom Intuos tablet along with a variety of tools (DAP, Artrage, Photoshop).

Some of my work below. All are from my own photos.

My painting resolution is 240 pixels per inch, and these paintings are all quite large - the lake and mountains one is meant to be 3' tall by 4' across. So of course at size and resolution shown here, it's just not the same.

Add to this the embellishment phase on the gallery wrap (gel and painted sides) and they should definitely grab attention on a wall.
