    Guidelines? Give 'em a rest!

Since I'm going on vacation and won't be back for a week, let's give providing the detailed steps a vacation, too. As a reward for so many fine writeups so far the how-to detail will be optional for this mini-challenge.

Guidelines? Give 'em a rest on this one!

The gory details optional, but appreciated if you're so inclined.

Still, limit your submissions to no more than two (2).

    Thank you Swampy and Garazon.
Swampy - I know what you mean about time to play with Painter. It has been slow going for me as well, and I still don't have a good comfort level with it.
Garazon - I agree about the need for the size restriction. With such a great site, there has to be size limits.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Lots of nice renditions of this lovely pic. I like your panoramic version Swampy

Here are two of mine I've been playing around with about 6 different version !! Both of these started life in Deep Paint (the free version) then played around with them in Photoshop.

      Larger versions are here:

      Watercolour

      Inked

          Enjoying all the nice renditions.
After adjustments used PaintEngine poster preset.

This photo is in horrible shape which makes it perfect to mess with.

I'll join the fray. I layered and blended with "Note Paper" filtered images.

I must say that limitation of size is very bad for quality :-(

Very nice rendering, colorful, and sharp.. thanks for reviving this thread...

For this picture I darkened it a bit with a 50% multiply layer then combined those layers and reduced the noise and compression artifacts using Imagenomic Noiseware, sharpened the whole thing, then used Redfields Fractalius sketch BW 2 in linear light mode. adjusted those layers to suit.
Used an action called DigiDoodle_3 and combined several of the resulting layers using various modes and opacities then added some texture to achieve this result
