  • PHOTO ART: Mini-challenge #145 – Chapel through the Trees

    Guidelines? Give 'em a rest!

Since I'm going on vacation and won't be back for a week, let's give providing the detailed steps a vacation, too. As a reward for so many fine writeups so far the how-to detail will be optional for this mini-challenge.

Still, limit your submissions to no more than two (2).

Photomauler, your use of light and shadow simplified the architectural design of the chapel, and made the photo composition a more evocative work. Very well done!

You got a nice light feel with that one.

Pam--I really like the lightness of your version. It gives a soft, airy feel to the image.

Vijayan--I like the effect your first version gave to the leaves in the trees.

Don--Your action worked very well on this one. It would have been really cool if there were a way to add a soft ray of light coming down to the door--kinda like the path to a safe haven.

I used several virtual painter layers with different blending modes, put a find edges layer over that and topped it off with a texture.

turned this onto a pencil sketch then added xero lithograph to get more lines and dots. sharpened to bring them out then played with the color balance to bring back some color to the image. Cathy
