Re: Creative Portraits: Red Headed Beauty

I have lurked here for a long time, coming back to Photoshop and portraiture after an absence too. I need to get rid of the notice telling me I have never posted, so I resurrected this thread and had a go at a smudge.

I go at this a bit differently from what I can understand from other posts. I capture the entire image as a pattern, then use the pattern tool to bring in the image a bit at a time, smudging as I go. This allows me to reuse the pattern tool to rework an area as needed. I tend to go from a big sloppy smudge to bringing in the details only where I need them. This method also keeps me focused, whereas if I work on an entirely visibile image I tend to jump around trying one area and then another.

Here is my result. Comments welcome.

    Hi Craig,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate that. But that seems like an awful lot for an extra 100k. Especially being a moderator! (lol-lol)

    mcole,

the only way to upload a file larger than 100k is to become a patron. you then get 200k per image. (or, you cheat like me and become a moderator ).

    Greetings everyone,

This is my first post on this site. But I saw this photo and had to give it a go. It's just such a great shot. I used Photoshop with no plugins, and just gave her a basic glamour makeover and tried to create sort of an ethereal glow about her.

    : )

P.S. How do I upload a photo bigger than 100k?

I'm throwing up a few PBAs for fun. Not my usual pursuit, but I love looking at what all of you have been able to create from the photos.
