palms1-can I ask how long those took? I'm scared to try smudging bcs I hear it takes a lot of time. I really like the textured one.
joe-is this from the smudge technique you described?
OlBaldy-Well it was certainly worth the effort, your results are nothing short of spectacular.

No it was done from a cartoon action and Snap Art. I spent a minute or two cleaning things up with the smudge tool but it wasn't done with that fake smudge technique.

                Re: male portrait

Lyle i like the minimalism will have to see what it looks like inverted

                Joe excellent version

Ol Baldy another excellent version ( altough there are a couple of white spots at the top of the head that draw my eye )

Nasturtium they can take different amounts of time depending on the amount of detail, ( and i usually spend more time masking and finishing ) but it ranges from one hour to quite a few but as i do them in stages i dont notice and the time does fly ! so pick up your smudge brush and have a go

                      Re: male portrait

                      I had a play too.
Palms, I like the one with texture a little better, both are great though, and a lovely BG you have added.
                      Lyle, interesting effect.
Joe, a little too much magenta on my screen otherwise very nice.
OB, whatever you threw, you found the right amount, like that one a lot
Dan, very nice, we went almost for the same crop :-)
