Contact Shadow

Hi,

I'm trying to create a composite where the leg breaks the bar but I'm having a difficult time in creating a believable shadow on the bar and on the leg, can anyone help with any ideas or point to a tutorial or something?

Put a shoe next to the object with similar light condition, and you will see how it should be. If you can't draw what you see, take a picture and copy a shadow via luminosity mask.

This is why it's called art. Tulack's idea is good, and in time you might become better at learning how the light reacts.

Tulack's comment is good but in this case since the light is coming from the right, there would be very minimal shadow on the bar.
