  • The New Links Library

Doug Nelson has added a new area to RetouchPro. This is our new links Library. this is a place where you can add links to resources, both here on RP and out there on the internet. this serves our entire community by providing a central location for all the various tools, programs, applications, plug-ins, pre-sets and the various web sites and people that provide them.

i'd like you all to contribute to this. the more folks that add links, the better central resource locator we have for all. this really is a group effort. if you run across a resource of some sort here on RP, why, copy the link to your clipboard and then go to the Library and add it in there. all benefit from this. just within RP there are lots of unorganized postings of pre-sets and lists of resources and links to various tutorials and web sites. take a minute and copy that link page and add it to our growing library. you help yourself find things and you help others as well. everyone wins.

so, the next time you see a resource here on RP or out there on the web, stop in and post the link to it. YOU ADD THE LINKS! All I do is ensure they are in the right place and conform to the rules and guidelines of RP. and the next time you need something and need to find it, the more likely you'll be able to find it quicker

      chobby, Welcome to RetouchPRO
Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends.
      Poke around, have fun!

RetouchPRO is a place for help, with abundant offerings of knowledge, opinions, or just interesting thoughts, We are a remarkably troll-free and welcoming group.

When you post your work, post how you did it. or, post stages of your work. there's nothing like a picture sequence to show how a thing progressed to the final stage.

Each post helps thousands of future users, not just you.

Just one thing to help the forum... If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described in this thread:
(Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images..)
The save for web function in the latest Photoshop is hidden under File>Export>Save for web (legacy)

This thread explains (How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads )

If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread, but also, always please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links). (link to the highest resolution.. or the largest size you can upload)

The following Tutorials from our Tutorial section may help some:
      Restoring an old photograph.
      Getting the Ring Out
      Restoration of Old Photo
The Awesome Power of Layer Masks
Enhancing Details In Unevenly Faded Pictures
      Spotting With The History Brush
      Smoothing Unwanted Textures

If you become a "Patron" You can attach files up to 1MB to any post, You won't see any ads on the site, There's a private forum just for Patrons, You can display an automatic signature under your posts, Your posts will clearly identify you as a Patron, so everyone knows of your generous support.

Hope this helps some... next time try starting a new thread in the forum place of your interest like Photo Restoration and click the new thread button.

      Welcome aboard !

            Very red frame faded photo
            by TheNeglected
I am attempting to restore a group of old photo's for my parents and each one has quite severe frame fading on them. One particular photo also have a very heavy redness do it, i can seem to fix the outside fading quite well but i am finding fixing the more heavily faded center to be very difficult....
