  • More How To questions...

    Hi ,

I have another How To question again.
This time, it's on How to create a Graduate Color filter effect in Photoshop or similar software.

Example on a Graduate Tobacco filter

Thank you in advance once again.

    Best regards,

There are a million ways to approach this. Here's one:

Make a new layer, fill with color of your choice. Set blend mode to 'color'. Apply a layer mask, click on the layer mask icon to select it. Then use radial blur tool to select your image area with no coloration. Click the mouse in the center of that area, and draw it out before releasing. The further you draw it out, the more gradual the effect will be. You can re-draw it over and over until you get the look you want, each time will erase the last one. After you've got the one you want, see if turning down the opacity helps.

        Faux Fog Effect
        by Doug Nelson
It's a beautifully foggy day here in southern Illinois. It adds mystery and drama to scenes I've seen hundreds of times before.

This got me thinking, how would you approach adding fog to an otherwise clear, sharp, and bright photo?

I took a couple of reference shots out...

        It's an aberration!
        by Littlecoo
I am trying to kill off as much chromatic aberration as I can in this raw image before I drop it into photoshop. But I can't seem to get an acceptable result here... Grrrr! Am I missing something important here? Am I flogging a dead horse, and would be better off just fixing it in PS? (BTW yes the highlights...

        Drawing a Circle
        by e.b.west
Some of you may have seen this question on dpreview, but I didn't get too many responses.

I'd like to know how to draw a circle around an object in a photo. I know how to use the ellipse tool but I can't figure out how to make the fill in the circle become transparent and ,at the same...
