    Hi Steve, welcome to RP!

Have you checked out the challenge section of the site? We'd love to have you participate in those with us. There's also an archive that has a lot of images you might find useful.

I'm not sure how things work in Germany since I've never been there, but if you have antique shops the way we do here in the US they might be a source for practice images.

For anyone wanting to send you images who is on a dial-up connection, do you have an FTP site available?

(Also, doesn't Hotmail have a size limit to the attached files you can receive? I seem to remember something like that...)

      Hi Steve,

I would definitely check out the challenges! It sounds like you're looking for the types of images under "Restoration Challenges", but you might want to take a look at some of the others too. If you submit a challenge (there is no expiration date on any of them, so just pick one that looks interesting!), you'll get feedback once it's posted.

Also, check out the archives. There are lots of old photos in there that need various levels of repair as well.

      Hope this helps,
      Jeanie

Welcome aboard Steve. Just in case you didn't know it, Hotmail is restricted to 1.5 meg files (at least for sending), and if you have mail in your mailboxes, it's even less. But like the others have said, the challenges are a great way to learn, and they're the backbone of the site. So jump right in. The water's fine.

          Photos to restore?
          by gleff
          Hi All,

I want to get some practice with restoring photos but I don't have very many. I know there are the challenges etc but many of them are a little too advanced at this stage of my development.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites with old and damaged...

I may end up "putting my mouse in my mouth" here, but I notice that there seems to be a bit of an issue with 100k limit images to work on at times.
There is a site, http://www.yousendit.com/ where by, you can send files up to 1 gig in size for free. They will host your file for...

I just became a new member to this site and I just wanted to say hi to everybody and tell a little bit about myself. I was laid off from my job of eight years and decided to make a career change.

I was working as an environmental instument repair technician, after being laid off I found...

          HI everyone!

I'm new here and don't quite know how it all works yet but I would still like to ask for help! I am taking a Photoshop class with HTML Writer's Guild and one of our assignments is to restore/retouch a photo. I didn't have any so I asked one of the lists I am on - and now...
