    Learning how to restore photos

    can anyone point me in the right direction on where to learn to restore photos i can do most of the basics like scratches, cracks, tears but i would like to learn how to fix light leaks or just anything to do with colours really.

    I use photoshop CS4 for all my stuff if anyone can help that would be great

      My first and still is go to resource would be Photoshop Restoration & Retouching. It gives a pretty good breakdown of the basic techniques to use in a given situation and allows you to develop your own workflow based on a solid foundation.

          A couple of months ago my dad's house caught fire from a heater and thus alot of his stuff were burned. But lucky(?) him some of the drawers protected (well, mostly) a bunch of photos from his younger times - he values them greatly and really would like to find a way to restore...
