  • Old photo of my grandad, Lost information

    Hi everyone
I would really appreciate any advice on this photo I have of my grandad with my aunty as a baby. I just want to know if it is possible to retrieve the information lost in all four corners of the photo. I have tried playing with curves, exposure/gamma correction. If not, how would I present the photo if I can't get that lost information back. I'm a bit of a newbie. Any advice would be extremely appreciated Thanks, Lisa

            Hi Lisa,

In my opinion that data in the extreme corners does not exist in the original print, so the best you can do is reconstruct it artistically. The lower right corner would be the most important to work on, followed by the upper left. The other two you could fake with generic fill.

The tones of the image can be balanced out and the cracks removed as well.

              This is an idea!
I got the picture in the frame by using a clipping.

The photo was in very poor condition and I've basically had to piece it back together again. The problem I have is that I need to blend the parts together to make...
