  • would like some guidence on trying to fix a photo

Hi there, I recently lost my mother, and through looking for photoes for her reflections video we came a cross a photo which we would like to see if we can fix it. The photo looks likes someone has put a coffee on it and it has left a round stain. Can we fix this At present I own Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx Barb

Re: would like some guidence on trying to fix a ph

    Hi Babs

    Welcome to RetouchPro.

Is the picture B&W or colour?

If it is colour then there is an old tutorial from Russel Brown which may help. It is difficult to find now but search Google for ‘rbstains.pdf’ and you will find a copy.

If it is B&W (or sepia) then very often the stain will be much reduced in the red channel.

We could help more if we could see the image

    Regards

    Ken

          Hi Barb

The image in your album is only 30kb. You may post images into the forum up to 100kb.
          This thread should help

Alternatively, post your image at one of the free file sharing websites (such as PhotoBucket) and post a link to it here.

The stain on the picture can be removed using the clone tool once the levels have been adjusted to remove the colour cast.

          Regards

          Ken

            Hi everyone,
I am at a loss for how to fix this one. I could use some help for how to get started. My wife and I were just married and wanted to send this picture to the people who came to our wedding. It is a great picture of us, except for the finger in the camera lens.

            We...

I am trying my hand at restoring this photo for a friend. Just cropped the part most in need of help.

Who would think trees would be so hard to do...cloneing just makes them look fuzzy. Also there is a big round stain . Can someone help with this?

            Then could you post...

            Hello everyone,

Hello there, I need some help with an old photo.

There was a small flood at my mom's house recently, and this photo was damaged pretty badly as you can see.

            Mildew/mold on photo
            by judyb
            Hi All,

I ran across this photo in our family mess of photos and am trying to figure out how to restore it in Photoshop CS5. I have others that part of the photo has been somewhat destroyed by what looks like the pox, but I assume is some sort of mold, breaking down of emulsion, or something....
