  • Scratches and fading and mildew, oh my!

I've been an interested reader of the posts by others for a while, and have learned from their experiences. The pro or semi-pro photo editing programs, however, are way over my head. I manage to muddle through with a very simple program -- Photo Express 1.0, free with my first scanner, circa 1995! -- and wanted to share a labor of love with others. Attached (unless I mess up) are before and after images from an aged and damaged slide. Many, many hours of cloning (in particular) were put into this photo. The girl on the viewer's left is my wife. We are 69 now.

Great job sailorman; you've really made something of that photo and I'll bet the missus was thrilled aswell.

Agree with Repairman a great job that would require a lot of patience to get right as you have obviously done

Thanks for your kind comments. I should mention that the ancient program I use has NO layers and only FIVE levels of undo! With that latter "feature," one must be really careful.
