  • Advise needed

    Anyone good with black & white photos? I still have a ton to learn about the proper tones. This is a photo of my Father (on the right) during the Korean war while he was stationed Japan that winter. They are squatted down in snow, But the pic doesn't really show that as well as Id like. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    I have done what I can to restore detail. But making white snow stand out in a B&W pic is got me stumped.

    Images are too small to judge but generally you can easily lighten or darken areas by applying either a levels or curves through a selectively masked area. Either paint over the required areas using quick mask tool or select any other way then add a new adjustment layer (which should include your new mask) e.g. curves and alter the curve as required
