  • Hello all... Toning question.

I am new here (great site) and have a question for you. I have been trying to accomplish a particular toning tourniquet I have seen within a certain photographer's portfolio. The photographers name is Rene Asmussen, and this dark blue / green tone can be seen in several of his photos. You can see his work at this url.

How can one hold exposure and produce this dark tone? How can I post process like this? I have had words with Rene, but he has been of little help. Any ideas would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you...

If you are talking about the monochrome images with that nice green/blue tone, the color is actually the easy part. Just add a hue/saturation adjustment layer, click the colorize option, reduce saturation down to 10 or 11, and swing the hue slider until the get the color you want. The harder part is getting the high key look, unless your image starts that way. If not, a lot depends on what kind of image you are starting with.
